After digging through the shed (literally, it took almost an hour to find our tree), everything was ready for the set up.
Next we have our lights. These lights were from Bunnings and they're really pretty. They just plug into the wall and even though they don't fade or blink, I still like them. I will be getting more lights this year, mainly in the next couple of weeks when prices of things go down. These cost me $15.
Our star. Originally we intended to have a gold star but they all looked crappy and cliche and I wanted something pretty. We picked this one up from Big W last week and its covered in silver glitter which I think looks really nice. Plus, it was only $5.
Our beads that hang around the tree (I don't do tinsel on trees, I have cats and they eat it) are silver and even though I bought two boxes, I found that I only needed one to cover our tree from top to bottom. Again, from Big W and cost only $3 each.
Our tree in the box. We picked our tree up over two years ago on Boxing Day (I love shopping on Boxing Day) for half price. Its a Black Forest Pine and was originally $119 and we only paid $40, so pretty much more than half price. I'll admit that while it was annoying and somewhat weird for us to buy all of our stuff post Christmas, we weren't the only ones. I literally had to fight to get this tree because some old guy wanted it even though we already had it in our trolley.
Our tree is done. At the moment its sitting in front of our fish tank because its the only place we had spare and the only place where the wind won't knock it down. I had a strong feeling that my older cat Cleo will be investigating, as she does every year :)
